What the papers say
Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski looks poised to make a move to the Premier League this summer, according to tabloids. The 29-year-old appears keen to try his hand in the English top flight after scoring 97 league goals in four seasons with the German club. Chelsea seem likely to be the leaders in any chase for the Poland international if Bayern allow the striker to be released from his 2021 contract, the paper says.
All eyes would appear to be on West Brom manager Alan Pardew after a run of defeats looks to be putting his time at The Hawthorns under threat. After a loss to Huddersfield at the weekend, another defeat at home against Leicester this Saturday could see an end to his time with the club, the Daily Mail reports. With the team facing a relegation battle, after just three wins in 37, possible replacement names – such as Marco Silva and Graham Potter – are fuelling the rumour mill, though it would seem the bosses are reluctant to cause any more upheaval for the time being.
Tottenham are hoping to bring Sheffield United youngster David Brooks to the Premier League, tabloids report. The forward has impressed bosses at Spurs and they are said to be in negotiations to sign the 20-year-old for around £10million. It is hoped Brooks could become a long-term replacement for star striker Harry Kane in the future.
Paul Pogba‘s time at Manchester United could be over by the summer amid reports the midfielder’s relationship with manager Jose Mourinho has broken down. Tabloids say the 24-year-old is eyeing a move to Real Madrid if Mourinho stays on at Old Trafford. The manager – who signed an extension to 2020 – has recently dropped the £89million star, whose contract includes a £53million buy-back option with his former club Juventus.
