Morton go viral with tweet announcing introduction of second-half substitute

Morton have found themselves at the centre of a viral sensation after their official Twitter account inadvertently sent pulses racing.

Social media users have been quick to lap up the hilarious – albeit seemingly unintentionally so – tweet which announced Lewis Strapp’s introduction as a 71st-minute substitute during Tuesday’s Betfred Cup defeat at Partick Thistle.

The post has received thousands of retweets and likes as cheeky users were left sniggering at the double entendre.

It has also sparked a series of saucy responses from football fans.

Unfortunately for 18-year-old Strapp, finding himself the laughing stock of the online world may become a regular occurrence this season.

Both his appearances for Ray McKinnon’s side have come off the bench this season and, unless he can fight his way into the starting XI, he will likely have to put up with more such guffaws.

And this is not the first time the defender has found at the centre of viral fame.

Back in March he suffered a similar fate as was introduced late on against Brechin.
