Former Barcelona forward Samuel Eto’o has left Turkish club Antalyaspor by mutual agreement.
The 36-year-old joined the Scorpions in 2015 and helped them to a fifth-placed finish in the Turkish Super Lig last term.
However, with Hamza Hamzaoglu’s side currently in the relegation zone, they have decided to let their captain leave.
A statement on the club’s website read: “We thank him for his contributions to the club so far and we wish him success in the next sporting event.”
Eto’o won the Champions League twice during a five-year stint with Barca and he also won Europe’s top prize while with Inter Milan in 2010.
